Where Life Is Heading
You reach a certain age. You have met lots of people, young and old. You have learned their thought process, their habits.
You have observed them growing older, paving their own ways, shaping their opinions, shaping their lives.
You have realized that even though there are infinite possibilities for infinite lives, there are certain most-probable outcomes.
They grow old alone. They watch TV. They become theatre fans. They play a musical instrument. They have a family. They have a dog. They move to another country. They get sick. They create their own business. They dedicate themselves to science. They go into politics. They get trapped in their 9-to-5. They get rich. They lose everything.
Yes, there are lots of paths ahead, each going through different territories and sceneries, but, sure, some will cross the same ones. However, the sum, the shape of the trip, the result of who you will be when you reach “the end” (quotes because there is no end, and the end here is not death) is somewhat predictable.
Examine yourself. Examine your needs, your deep desires, your oldest memories, your strongest memories, your motivations, your strengths, your weaknesses, your capabilities. Examine more. Be true and brutal. Be honest. You know who you are, you have an idea of how the world and others perceive you.
You chase after some dream, surely. You often think of what will happen when you attain that dreamy reality, do you not⸮
So, you steer your life in that direction. You choose a path you think will get you there.
Of course, there are infinite things that can happen along the way, and you constantly re-evaluate your position. You try to keep your focus, but there are distractions.
Maybe your dreamy reality changes, but it doesn’t matter. It’s still just an outcome you are chasing after.
Chase it then.
But, it would be wise to not let it define you. Remember that your mind has to stay open. You need to be adaptable to change. You need to prepare both for your outcome and for the chance you end up in a different one. Evaluate the possibilities, the dangers.
You are not who you want to be. Not yet. You are what you do and say now. What you did and said yesterday. Don’t try to fool yourself or fool others. Work for your outcome, and show your work honestly and openly.
You will get there.
