You have to shed dead weight

This thought has been reoccurring in my mind for a few months and I wanted to blurt it out.

You have to leave stuff behind, you have to constantly recognise what you do not need or what is dragging you down, or what is slowing you down.

As you go along in life, and its various “side quests”, you come along many things, physical or not.

The things you encounter and the way you react to them, but also the way you think about them (and of course the way you think about yourself) is what evolves you. You are changing. Sometimes you are aware of it, and sometimes you realise you have changed - again.

Now, the trick is to balance all of these reactions. Perhaps you keep pushing yourself, but you must also remain in agreement with your thoughts. You must like yourself. Your choices and reactions are based on that relationship, inevitably. Perhaps, you have decided to stay on the same page of life and not make another move, or you decided to rollback on some of your choices. It does not matter, it’s all decisions and reactions.

But, see, you are definitely feeling more tired every minute.

That is why you have to leave something behind. You do not need to accumulate, carry and drag every little thing you have encountered. Let it go. I am not saying “let go of the bad stuff”. No, but for sure, you should try some of that as well.

What I am saying is, you need to consciously start doing regular introspection and “status check”. I don’t know how else to word it, unfortunately the correct ones escape me right now.

You will think and learn of the things that provide no value to you, or their value is too little. You will leave these behind. Hide them in your parents' house garage, give them away, sell them, forget them, forgive them…

You need to keep the evolution of yourself going, you need to keep the machine of you running. If not, then if you encounter something new and shiny, you will not be able to add it to your list of shiny things.

Do not carry weight you do not need, it will slow you down. And make room for new stuff, because that will keep you interesting, interested and happy.
